蔡金龍，1965年出生於新北市深坑，1983年以立體雕塑第一名的成績畢業於復興商工。投入藝術創作數十年，長期鑽研雕塑藝術與宗教造像，並於1999年成立雕塑公司，累積逾千件作品。創作涵蓋寫實人物肖像、宗教藝術與公共藝術，作品遍及臺灣、中國大陸、東南亞、日本、澳洲及美國等地。
早年深耕宗教雕塑，經常走訪寺院古剎，在大型神佛造像的實踐中，深入研究形體、比例、姿態與神韻。他以「精、巧、妙、真」自我期許，重視細節與整體精神的呼應，使作品兼具莊嚴氣度與生命神采。長年接觸宗教文化，也使他對人與萬物的觀察，多了一份沉靜與細膩。
隨著創作歷程推進，蔡金龍逐漸將視野拓展至人物、親情、童趣與自然，並運用銅、不鏽鋼、玻璃及漂流木等媒材，探索具象與抽象之間的表現可能。傳統雕塑的扎實基礎，結合當代造形與複合媒材，讓作品在材質、線條與空間的交會中，呈現溫暖而深刻的人文情感。
「每件作品都有故事。」對蔡金龍而言，雕塑是一種與生命對話的方式。創作源於人本關懷，靈感則來自萬物蘊含的精神；從守護與陪伴，到共生、剎那與永恆，他持續以形體承載思考，以材質傳遞溫度。
以手塑形，以心傳神。蔡金龍在傳統與當代之間持續探索自身的藝術語言，讓靜止的形體蘊含生命，也讓雕塑成為連結信仰、文化與心靈的共同語言。
Born in Shenkeng, New Taipei City, in 1965, Chin-Lung Tsai graduated from Fu-Hsin Trade and Arts School in 1983, ranking first in sculpture. Over several decades, he has devoted himself to sculpture and religious statuary. In 1999, he established his own sculpture company, building a body of work that now exceeds a thousand pieces. His practice encompasses realistic portraiture, religious art, and public art, with works located throughout Taiwan, mainland China, Southeast Asia, Japan, Australia, and the United States.
Tsai’s early career focused on religious sculpture. Frequent visits to temples and monasteries, together with his work on monumental sacred figures, deepened his understanding of form, proportion, posture, and spiritual expression. Guided by a pursuit of precision, finesse, subtlety, and truth, he carefully balances individual details with the spirit of the whole. His longstanding engagement with religious culture has also nurtured a contemplative sensitivity toward people and the natural world.
Over time, Tsai expanded his artistic scope to explore the human figure, family relationships, childhood, and nature. Working with bronze, stainless steel, glass, and driftwood, he investigates the possibilities between figuration and abstraction. His grounding in traditional sculpture informs his experimentation with contemporary forms and mixed media, bringing warmth and emotional depth to the interplay of material, line, and space.
“Every work has a story.” For Tsai, sculpture is a way of entering into dialogue with life. Rooted in human concern and inspired by the spirit within all things, his practice reflects on protection, companionship, coexistence, and the relationship between fleeting moments and eternity. Through form, he gives shape to thought; through material, he conveys warmth.
Shaping with his hands and conveying spirit through his heart, Tsai continues to develop an artistic language that connects tradition and contemporary expression. His sculptures imbue still forms with vitality, creating connections among faith, culture, and the human spirit.
